Objectives

1. Institutional Development and Empowerment
 Search Nepal (SN) is an excellent NGDO, supporting its constituency (SHGs, CBOs, NGOs, Local Government) and development actor, partners through a multitude of services such as capacity building, process consultancy, strategy development, systems development and implementation of relevant rural development initiatives.  It is a learning NGO, advocating Human Right issues and empowerment of its constituency. SN focuses on disadvantaged communities such as dalits, indigenous/ethnic minorities, women, children and elder citizens.

2. Organizational Development
      SN pursues and advocates empowerment and rights based approach to development      while working for self-reliant development.  A realistic mix of service delivery towards critical minimum basic needs is also pursued through self-help development.   It's Mission and Goal complements national development.  It attempts to usher just, equitable, inclusive and accountable systems of governance in government and non-government sectors. SN wishes its own institutional development and institutional development of SHG, F-SHGs (Federation of Self-help Group) and CBOs. The basic justification of this objective is to strengthen SN, such that it is institutionally robust in order to fulfil its Vision Mission Value Goal (VMVG). This entails that SN develop.

 Effective leadership and management;
 Fully functioning of organizational development (OD); basic infrastructure at centre and project level;  
 Well-equipped office; developed systems; competent staff;
 Quality finance, endowment fund and capital;
 Well managed relevant programmes and projects;
 Quality Assurance and Performance Standards from staff
 Effective external public relations maintaining excellent image and reputation.
 Strategic Systems Thinking,
 Sustainability (functioning structure, systems and strategy).
 Proactive response to socio, economic, social and civic issues,
 Proactive and Constructive Board (in order to fulfil SN’s Vision)

3. Programme Development
 Incorporating the Vision and Mission, SN implements various empowerment projects / activities based on principles of sustainable self-reliant such as:

(i) Building Capacity of NGOs/CBOs and Development Partners
       Building Capacity is an important element and foundation stone of SN. SN is continuously building capacity of NGOs/CBOs and development partners in Nepal plus Asian region together with its established network partners. 

(ii) Creating an Enabling Environment: Coalition Building, Advocacy and Shaping Development Policy
 SN is continuously joining hands with other NGOs and their network in Nepal, Asia and other regions to strengthen important issues such as poverty reduction; sustainable livelihood; food security, reduction of harmful Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs), and agricultural practices with the promotion of organic farming; strengthen constructive globalization efforts, promote gender equality; rights of children; youth elderly; and join hand in mitigating the negative effects of climate change; human trafficking and exploitation of human beings in all forms.

(iii) Capacity Building
SN supports and facilitates capacity growth of NGOs, CBOs, SHGs, Local Government. SN operates and supports empowerment of vulnerable communities, environment and environmental policy research; planning and training; process and operations research, primary health; quality basic education; policy advocacy; Civic engagement; Effective governance, Right Based Approach, Human rights, Women, youth and child rights, Economic and Livelihood empowerment etc.

(iv)  Networking
Networking is maintained to up-scale the capacity building and advocacy efforts. It is encouraged at various levels such as:     
          i).   National level though various existing networks NGO Coalition, Federation etc.
          ii).   Regional and international levels through various existing networks.

(v) Process Consultancy
Process consultancy and operations research are offered in various development and environment issues.
 

Creating An Enabling Environment: Coalition Building, Advocacy and Shaping Development Policy SN will continue to join hands with other NGOs and their network in Nepal, Asia and other regions to promote the cause of important issues such as poverty reduction; sustainable livelihood; food security, GMO and organic farming; IPR and globalization; gender; children; elderly; population, environment and building capacity to create a n enabling environment and shaping crucial policies relevant to its Vision and Mission.
